Here’s a harvest moon activity for you and your little magic makers!
Fall temperatures mean marigold collecting. These fragrant little jewels have been absorbing the sun’s energy for months - plucking them and bringing them inside extends the summer just a few more days.
Mythology of the marigold spans from Dia de los Muertos (their scent guides ancestral spirits home), to Hindu traditions and heaps of Northern European magical lore. A simple activity is to string them with a needle and thread then drape in a room that needs a little energizing. After they are dry try saving the petals for some mid-winter sunshine magic: rehydrated in a mortar with Sunshine Syrup on December 21st is sure a wonderful way to bring back the sun.
